Libra Holidays – Who are we?

Libra Holidays was established in the UK in September 1972 specialising in direct sell holidays to four and five star hotels in Cyprus. By 1995, the programme to Greece and Cyprus was substantially increased, and due to its success it was launched to the consumer via UK travel agents.

In February 1996, Libra Holidays became a fully owned subsidiary of the Libra Holidays Group which is a publicly listed company on the Cyprus Stock Exchange. In 1997 other Greece islands were added to the programme including Santorini, Zante, Kefalonia and Kos. By now, Libra Holidays was well known for offering holidays to Cyprus and holidays to Greece.

Between 2001 and 2005, Libra Holidays focused on expanding the Eastern Mediterranean programme and offered the dedicated Cyprus brochure, a Greece and Turkey brochure as well as an Egypt and Dubai programme.

In addition to the five destinations, Libra Holidays also purchased another specialist company in 2000 known as Goldenjoy Holidays, therefore strengthening our Egypt programme and enabling us to diversify into offering diving holidays in Egypt.
Libra Holidays also introduced a specialist wedding and honeymoons programme featuring a range of wedding ideas and venues on the island of Cyprus. Having become specialists in overseas weddings and honeymoons in Cyprus, we introduced this service on 6 popular Greek islands including Rhodes, Crete and Santorini. The programme caters for a wide variety of styles and budgets and our team of dedicated wedding coordinators in both the UK and in Cyprus ensure that every detail and request is taken care of.
For summer 2006 Libra Holidays expanded its destinations to offer additional accommodation in Cyprus, a total of 70 new properties in Greece and additional options in Egypt including 4 new multi centre trips and seven night Nile cruises.

In October 2007, the company finalized an agreement with a group of private investors which secured the future development of the tour operation. This participation resulted in the financial and management re-structure of Libra Holidays Ltd.

In February 2008, Libra Holidays Ltd acquired the business assets and brands of Argo Holidays and Jetlife in which the companies were merged in order to optimize business performance.

In March 2008, the tour operator announced that Allbury Travel Group Limited was the new holding company name for a collection of specialist travel brands operating as Libra Holidays, Sky Holidays and Priceright Flights, Goldenjoy Holidays, Enable Holidays, Argo Holidays and Jetlife.

Allbury Travel Group now offers a huge selection of quality dream holidays. All brands within the group's portfolio are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority and holding Air Travel Organiser’s License 0324 and are members of the ABTA number V0688.
