As with Fira this town is typical of Santorini with pretty cave dwellings peppered along the Caldera side providing an endless colourful feast for the eyes. The views are spectacular and as the town of Firostefani itself is higher up, it offers a different perspective on the magical volcano sitting out to sea.
Firostefani is small and much quieter than Fira, comprising hotels, traditional houses, villas, studios and rooms. The area has just a couple of restaurants and cafes but bustling Fira can be reached easily on foot or by taxi.
