It is as enthralling now as it ever was, its banks littered with ancient monuments and tombs built by nobles and pharaohs to immortalize themselves.
Along her banks, village scenes today have changed little since biblical times. Her modern day people are warm, friendly, generous, intelligent and fiercely proud of everything this wonderful country has to offer. At the end of every year, Egyptians are eager to hear good news about the water level in the River Nile. In 1994 the volume of inlet water was considered high. In the High Dam Lake, water reached its highest ever level.
